I like that these longer scans mean Bitdefender is looking deep to ensure there isn’t any malware hidden. It becomes bothersome when I’m ready to shut down, but need to wait for the scans to be done. I can still do everything I need to while Bitdefender does its thing. Longer scans aren’t necessarily a problem when there isn’t an impact on your computer during them. For example, Trend Micro completed in-depth scans in about 5 minutes. It does take a bit of local memory to store, though, and its scan takes almost three times as long as other antivirus software.
I was able to keep watching videos, sending emails with attachments, or playing online games without any drag, and only the occasional buffering. I even installed Bitdefender on some of my older home computers that were already bogged down with a lot of programs and it still didn't affect my overall experience.
